What’s up folks, it’s been a while. A lot has gone on since my last blog post, I’ve got a new job, we’re all on lockdown and much more. But we won’t go into this as we’re here for the beer and let’s face it, we all need to focus on something different.
We all know that the NHS is under strain at the moments on various different levels, and with this East London brewery, Signature Brew is collaborating with Manchester Punk Festival on a hoppy & hopeful beer to help raise funds for the NHS.
If you haven’t heard about Signature Brew and are new to them, they have been brewing since 2011 on a mission to bring quality beer to live music events. Since their opening, they have collaborated with some of the top bands such as Idles, Mogwai, Alt-J, Slaves, Mastodon, Frank Turner, Rodney P, and Enter Shikari.
Originally brewed up with the women of Manchester Punk Festival with a celebratory launch gig at Signature’s Walthamstow Brewery (check it out on Youtube), the collab beer was supposed to have been sold at the festival in April 2020.
The beer itself you can expect to find stone fruit aromas warm you into this low bitterness New England classic, followed by tropical and sticky pine vibes on top of a super smooth oat base. You can find the beer online via the Signature Brew’s website for £3.70 and comes in a 330ml can.
For every beer sold, Signature Brew will give a £1 donation to NHS Charities Together.
When this all blows over, Signature Brew is also selling tickets for a proper piss up in a brewery, as well as two Skints gigs (their first in E17 for 10 years) as something for everyone to look forward to – we can all raise a glass to that!
