What’s up folks, I’m back again with another beer and this time I’m featuring the guys over at Wilde Child Brewing (check them out here).
They have been a brewery on my radar for a seriously long time now, following Keir (Founder & Head Brewer) in his garage brewing up the beers to then seeing them expand into their very own premises in 2018, it was really a great achievement from Keir and all involved and something that will remind them each day that hard work really can pay off.
The recent beer Wilde Child has been releasing is another reason I have been desperate to try them out. Their stouts appear to be scrumptious and their IPAs hitting everything you’d expect and making them a real advocate for Northern Craft Beer.
I ventured to The Dram Shop, Crookesmoore, Sheffield to check out their selection and seen a wide variety of Wilde Child on show and beers I hadn’t seen on the Wilde Child social pages, such as this bad boy: The Italian Job
The Italian Job is a Tiramisu Milkshake Stout, and this really didn’t upset. Tiramisu is my favourite dessert of all time, so it was a no brainer for me to get this and in a stout? Fuck yeah! Cracking open this beer I was instantly taken in by the aroma of milky coffee, vanilla with hints of dark chocolate and dark fruits.
On the pour, it’s a 2 and a half finger tan head with great pockets of carbonation and sticky lacing when going down the glass. Colour, a roasted black hue.
Taking my first few sips of this beer, I was picturing myself sat on a balcony somewhere, enjoying a can of Italian Job with a side of fresh tiramisu, really, what more could ask for? The taste was very milkshake-like mouthfeel and soft carbonation with a sharp sensation on the way down. A real chocolate vibe going on in the taste and moments of coffee, molasses and berries.
I would definitely love to try this on cask and I will be keeping my eyes open for more Wilde Child stouts and beers so I can feature them on here.
If you have a few minutes, be sure to go and check out Wilde Child Brewing Company on their social media channels and perhaps plan a visit to their brewery for one of their open days or events so you can try their beer as fresh as possible.
If you enjoyed this review, please go and follow me on my social media channels. I will be posting all of my upcoming posts on there.
Let me know in the comments what beers you have been enjoying recently, as well as letting me know if you have tried any Wilde Child beers yourself?
See you all in the next post, cheers!
