Key Takeaways

- The Base Layer: The Navy Chino 5 Pocket Shorts are an absolute staple for the warmer months. They are lightweight, comfortable, and look great rolled up.
- Look One: A relaxed Navy and Cream Marl Baseball T-Shirt with bold sleeve details for keeping up with casual summer trends.
- Look Two: A sharper, Marine Blue Double Stripe Polo Shirt that is perfect for summer garden parties and pub trips.
As we push through March 2026, I am already looking ahead to the warmer months and checking out the latest summer trends. This upcoming summer is shaping up to be awesome. Well, let me just take out the large portion of rain we will inevitably endure!
Other than the classic British weather, my plans are looking very relaxed. From prepping for a two-week holiday in the sun to planning cocktail parties in the back garden, we are even finishing off the garden renovations by getting a hot tub in a couple of weeks!
I have also had the great achievement of being selected as a Bad Rhino UK Men’s Blogger. Following on from my recent guide to 5 summer essentials from Bad Rhino, this post highlights two specific looks that I believe perfectly capture the best summer trends for any occasion.

The Ultimate Shorts for 2026 Summer Trends
Both of my chosen looks feature the Navy Chino 5 Pocket Shorts, which also include a fantastic tan belt.
When it comes to following summer trends, comfort is just as important as style. These are super comfy, lightweight shorts that look even more stylish if you roll up the leg length to add a casual edge to your outfit. Bad Rhino always runs incredible seasonal sales, and I managed to snap these up for a bargain. For reference, I am wearing a size 44 waist, and they are a genuinely great fit.
Look 1: Casual and Comfortable
The top that I am wearing for my first look is the Navy & Cream Marl Baseball Stripe Sleeve T-Shirt with button detail.
I am wearing a 2XL, which is a roomy but great fit. I definitely would not size down, as I really like how this relaxed fit looks on me. I really love tops with bold arm details lately. They really stand out and offer a fresh take on current summer trends compared to the usual bold graphic print on the chest.
This is made from such a comfortable material and is an absolute steal for the quality. It is exactly the kind of top I throw on when I am writing up a new craft beer review or just chilling out on the weekend.
Look 2: Smart and Sharp
My second and final look is a bit bolder and brighter. I picked out the Marine Blue Double Stripe Polo Shirt.
The Bad Rhino sale is really awesome right now. Everything is always at a great price, but with the extra seasonal savings, it makes you want to spend more! I am really happy with this blue polo shirt. It is made from a really great, breathable material and offers a very smart fit.
Again, I am wearing a 2XL and I absolutely love the fit. It sits perfectly across the shoulders without clinging to the stomach. I am definitely sticking to a 2XL for all my tops at Bad Rhino going forward. When we finally get that hot tub sorted and have people round for drinks, this polo is exactly what I will be wearing.

FAQ: Styling Summer Trends for Bigger Guys
What are the best summer trends for big and tall men? This year, the best summer trends focus on breathable fabrics and subtle patterns. Think lightweight chino shorts, classic vertical stripes, and polo shirts that offer a structured but comfortable fit.
Is Bad Rhino sizing accurate for shopping online? From my experience, yes! I consistently wear a size 44 waist in their shorts and a 2XL in their t-shirts. The fits are roomy and comfortable, specifically tailored for bigger guys, so you do not need to order a size up just to be safe.
Do I need to buy a belt for the chino shorts? Many of the tailored chino shorts from Bad Rhino actually come with a matching woven or faux-leather belt included, which is a brilliant bonus for completing your outfit.
