For a very long time, my go-to scent has been Versace Eros. It is absolutely beautiful, very long-lasting, and full of everything I look for in a fragrance. The notes you can expect from Eros are Tonka Bean, Vanilla, and Cedarwood with a touch of Oak.

However, when looking for new fragrances, I often browse the virtual shelves of Fragrance Direct due to their fantastic pricing. At work, we often have various small companies come in to showcase their products, and this is where I first came across the beauty that is Issey Miyake Nuit D’Issey.

This fragrance from Issey Miyake is very sophisticated compared to its Eau De Toilette brother. This Parfum version is heavier, richer, and more intense.

It opens with punchy Grapefruit and Pink Pepper, but it quickly settles into those deep, masculine notes I love. You get a heavy hit of leather and intense smokey notes, while the base notes of Patchouli, Incense, Tonka Bean, and Ebony Tree wood make this fragrance feel incredibly luxurious.

If you are a fan of “blue” aquatic scents, I would highly recommend sampling this first to ensure it is for you. It is dark and mysterious. However, if you prefer subtle and lighter notes, you might want to grab the original Eau De Toilette version instead.

I picked up the 125ml bottle for £59.99, which is an incredible price for a Parfum concentration.

The RRP on this bottle sits closer to £92.00 these days, so you are getting a massive saving of over £30 if you shop around. Finding a scent of this quality for under £60 is rare, making it one of the best value winter fragrances on the market.

I absolutely love this. However, this won’t be my daily wear due to the intense notes.

I see this strictly as my “going out spray.” It is perfect for a nice dinner, a bar, or a cold winter walk where you want the scent to cut through the cold air. It projects confidence and maturity.
