Cattle Decapitation Reveals “A Photic Doom” Video + New Album!
CATTLE DECAPITATION have today officially launched their new album, Terrasite, the mammoth tenth studio album from the San Diego, California legends. Terrasite is out now on Metal Blade Records.
Numerous bands have endeavoured, yet no one conveys the actual impending apocalypse confronting humanity as vividly and succinctly as CATTLE DECAPITATION does. With their 2019 masterpiece, Death Atlas, they ascended to the pinnacle of this thematic exploration, leading some to conjecture that they had reached their zenith and could not surpass such a triumph. However, the band disproves these assumptions by returning with Terrasite, a statement as audacious as any they have ever crafted. The album springs into existence with the brutally intense yet eerily melodic “Terrasitic Adaptation”, progressing through tracks such as the relentless “We Eat Our Young”, and culminating with the epic ten-plus minutes of “Just Another Body”. Terrasite is an album that continually alters dynamics, eliciting a spectrum of emotional reactions.
The Guitarist of CATTLE DECAPITATION, Josh Elmore, tells us more:
“All the CATTLE hallmarks are there: ripping blasts, abrasive and aggressive guitar/bass riffs and [vocalist] Travis [Ryan]’s varied vocal approach, but this record just feels different. There’s a deep richness to the guitar tones and a more prominent bass guitar presence; the drum parts are assaultive but tasteful, and Travis’ vocals are as varied as they’ve ever been but with an added emotional depth. The whole record sounds like a sombre panic attack, like mourning the loss of a loved one at Mach 3. The trademark CATTLE intensity is always there, but this time at paces that range from frantic to controlled and driving but with more focus on menacing heaviness. The ambient and effect-laden guitar presence also takes up a much larger part of the whole experience.”

In celebration of the release of Terrasite, today the band has unleashed a video for “A Photic Doom”.
Terrasite, which features the artwork by long-time collaborator Wes Benscoter (Vader, Kreator, Bloodbath, Hypocrisy), was produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Allegaeon) and includes Dis Pater of Midnight Odyssey handling piano and synths.
