Looking Better With Grüum

Grüum (visit their website here) is a refreshing alternative grooming brand for men for fraction the price of the high-street brands.

Following the Manchester based company for a while now, I’ve seen the interest in this type of service grow.  It is exciting to note that subscription based services are on the rise, with many adding the extra link to your daily routine or lives.

The rise of the subscription box has been a fascinating uprising, but nothing that is surprising.  With many offering something unique through your letter box or door each month, fuelling our natural instinct for intrigue.

As like many subscription based services, you have the flexibility of managing the payment options.  You can change your billing date at any time, pause your service for when you need a little breather or cancel the subscription, all with a simple click.

I will be honest, subscription boxes really appeal to me.  Simply for the fact they are a fantastic source to find some new which you wouldn’t necessarily source yourself.  The idea behind Grüum is one that I like most, a monthly subscription of men’s grooming essentials and you will never run out.

The products themselves adapt Scandinavian design culture with clean design aesthetic which gives you a subtle but noticeable message about the brands Never Harmful ingredients, the packaging is also of a travel size but also large enough for everyday which I absolutely love for convenience.  All of the products are free from EDTA, parabens, sulphates, SLS, SLES, artificial fragrances and colours.  Oh, and they also do not test on animals.

I received their beard maintenance set which is available here for £29.95 (with free postage and packaging) on either a 1 month subscription or you can pre-pay for 3 months or 6 months.

The set includes everything you need to keep your face fur in tip-top condition.

Beginning with their gösta facial tonic, a product aimed at energising the skin and refreshing your complexion.  Using this in the morning really helps in tackling the “sluggish” feeling.  The light and zesty citrus scent this is perfect for that any time pick me up, reducing unwanted shine and preventing clogged pores.

A lot of gentleman are still unaware of the benefits of adding a toner/tonic to their daily routine and this can make a huge difference to the appearance of your skin.  If you face is looking shiny throughout the day, feeling irritated after a shave and if you are like me and suffer from blackheads and breakouts from working in a close office environment, I have noticed a rapid difference from using the facial toner.

The facial toner is packed with goodness as promised from Grüum with Chamomile, Rosemary Oil and Aloe Vera add goodness back to the skin and feeling fresh whilst Witch Hazel killing unnecessary bacteria and refresh the complexion.

Leif beard oil is probably my favourite oil to date, a conditioning oil to help your beard maintain a healthy body and keep it feeling irritation free.  Whether your beard is like mine, short at the moment or more full face carpet as you may know, beard oil is an essential tool to ensuring your beard is conditioned.

As I am very easy to be a victim to neglecting my skin under my beard, beard oil is a tool to ensure you are left irritation free and the bristles healthy and the added Vitamin E in the leif beard oil can ensure you that you will no longer be having any beard-druff.

The leif beard oil comes in 3 scents –
Wood: Patchouli and Sandalwood
Citrus: Orange, Rosemary and Eucalyptus
Earth: Thyme, Spearmint and Rosemary.

I received the Wood fragrance and it fits my scent perfectly.

Keeping the beard game strong, the Tor beard wax is another great essential tool for the moustache and the beard ensuring that you can shape your beard perfectly and keeping you sharp for the day.  With Carnauba and Beeswax combine to give a light hold and essential oils and shea butter keep your beard nourished and moisturised.

The morning routine for a bearded gent never fails without a beard wash, bård has been specifically formulated for facial hair ensuring the beard is left clean and smelling fantastic which I for one can confirm this is the case.

Washing your beard is essential, like washing your hair you want to ensure things are left clean without too many of the essential oils being removed which leads to irritation and dryness.  Bård features natural ingredients working alongside but not messing with your beards balance, I would recommend using the wash every other day but that is your preference.

For everyday cleaning and maintenance kóri daily exfoliating face wash is I believe the most refreshing face wash I have used.  The formulation as always is kind to you skin and amazing at removing any excess dirt or impurities.  With added biodegradable tiny beads to exfoliate any dead skin cells and lift away dirt, keeping the blemishes and blackheads away.

This daily face wash is designed to work with all skin types, a combination of Witch hazel, Aloe Vera, Orange and Eucalyptus work in harmony to combat dryness, soothe the skin, whilst keeping oil at bay.  I would follow this up with the gösta face tonic to help keep you feeling fresh.

Finally, we come on to the kåre daily moisturiser, moisturising daily should already be in your routine, if not it is essential to note that moisturising daily helps to condition and hydrate whilst also repairing and protecting your skin against pollution, dry air and other day-to-day nastiness.

Kåre is the essential finishing touch to your skincare routine. Cleansing your face with a gentle face wash creates the ideal base to allow moisturiser to penetrate the skin and lock in that goodness.

As like kóri, this is suitable for all skin types, kåre is awesome at combating dry skin, and its light weight formula means that oily skin won’t be left feeling greasy, so there’s no risk of looking like a oily or the skin feeling heavy. Packed with the natural goodness of Chamomile, Rosemary Oil, and Green Tea extract, kåre is kind to sensitive skin and great at soothing post-shave irritation.
